Fits wrist up to 9"

When Timing Is Everything.

Why Choose the Rose Note

  • A brown sunburst dial that moves with the light: deep espresso indoors, warm copper in the sun
  • Rose gold and 904L stainless steel in a 40mm case that sits flat and disappears under a cuff
  • Self-winding automatic with a smooth sweeping seconds hand. No battery, ever needed
  • Glidelock clasp: lengthen or shorten the bracelet on your wrist in seconds, no tools, no jeweler
  • Sapphire crystal, magnified date, 100m water resistance, and lume that reads in the dark
  • Also made in a 32mm ladies size, so it can be worn as a matched his-and-hers pair
  • Worked by hand, oil-bathed, and polished in the U.S.A. before it ever reaches you

Buy with confidence: Free U.S. shipping on this watch, 14-day returns for unworn items in original condition, and a two-year limited warranty.

Rose gold gets loud in the wrong hands

The Rose Note keeps it warm instead.

The dial is brown. Deep espresso when you are inside, and then you step out into daylight and the sunburst opens up into copper, amber, and something close to bourbon held to a window. Rose gold indices. Rose gold hands. A smooth domed bezel with nothing written on it, because it does not need to say anything.

This is the watch for the man who is already the most interesting person in the room and has no intention of mentioning it.

Where the name comes from

Herschel Dwellingham built a career in rooms where being half a beat late meant doing the whole thing again. Berklee College of Music. Charting records dating back to 1968. Film and television scores. A life measured out in bars and downbeats, where timing was not a feature. It was the job.

His mark travels on every watch we make: the crown and the note, signed on the dial at twelve, engraved into the crown, cut into the center of the caseback, and stamped on the clasp. If the Blue Note is the up-tempo number, the Rose Note is the ballad. Slower. Warmer. Played in a lower register.

What we do after the watch is built

Most watches leave the factory and go straight into a box. This one takes a detour.

Every Rose Note comes to a bench in the United States, and we go after the edges by hand. The corners of the lugs. The underside of the clasp, where it rides against your skin all day. The inside face of every single link. Factory tolerances look fine on paper. They stop looking fine around hour six, when an edge you cannot even see has been working at your wrist all afternoon. So we take them down until there is nothing left to catch on.

Then the whole thing goes for a soak. We mix our own blend of mineral oils, and every finished watch sits in it. Steel comes out of manufacturing carrying things you will never see: fine metal dust, cutting residue, the grit that settles down into the seams between links and stays there. The oil draws it out. What comes back is cleaner, looser in the joints, and quieter against the skin.

Neither step shows up on a spec sheet, and nobody is ever going to ask you about them. You will just notice, some ordinary Tuesday afternoon, that you never once thought about taking the watch off. See how every Dwellingham is finished.

On the wrist

40mm is the size that stopped being a trend and became the standard. Big enough to have presence across a table, small enough to slide under a shirt cuff without a fight.

The glidelock clasp is the part you will end up telling people about. Your wrist is not the same size at nine in the morning as it is at nine at night, and it is certainly not the same in August as it is in January. Slide the clasp open, adjust, close it. No pins, no tools, no trip to the jeweler. It takes about three seconds and you can do it one-handed, on the wrist, in a parking lot.

100m of water resistance means rain, a sink full of dishes, and the shallow end are all non-events.

His and hers: the Rose Note also comes in 32mm

The Rose Note is made in a 32mm ladies size as well, with the same brown sunburst dial and the same two-tone rose gold and 904L steel.

Side by side they do not read as two watches that happen to look alike. They read as a pair. Same dial, same warmth, same monogram on the crown, scaled to two different wrists. It is the kind of thing couples end up wearing to the same dinner without planning it.

The 32mm listing is going up shortly. If you want the set, get in touch and we will hold one for you.
