Bracelet Sizing Guide

Dwellingham bracelet sizing guide — micro-adjustment, secure clasp, solid links, easy sizing

The Clasp System

Our Oyster-style clasp features a folding clasp mechanism and a safety catch designed to help prevent accidental opening. It provides reliable fastening and comfortable handling, including around water.

Integrated into the clasp is a Glidelock-style extension system — a refined rack-based adjustment device that allows the bracelet length to be finely adjusted without tools. The clasp includes 10 notches of approximately 2mm each, giving the bracelet added extension capacity for comfort and easy adjustment.

Dwellingham watches ship with extra links to help ensure proper fitment for wrists up to 9 inches.

How to Measure Your Wrist

  1. Wrap a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper around your wrist just below the wrist bone, where you would normally wear a watch.
  2. Note the measurement in inches. This is your wrist circumference.
  3. Add 0.5 to 0.75 inches to your wrist measurement to get your ideal bracelet length — this gives a comfortable fit with slight movement on the wrist.
  4. For a looser fit, add up to 1 inch. For a snug dress-watch fit, add 0.25 to 0.5 inches.

Glidelock Extension System

The Glidelock-style clasp allows micro-adjustment without removing links. Simply open the clasp, slide the extension to your preferred notch, and close. Each notch adds approximately 2mm of length.

With 10 notches available, the system provides up to 20mm of tool-free adjustment — ideal for seasonal changes or wearing over a sleeve.

Removing or Adding Links

Each Dwellingham bracelet ships with extra links already included in the box. For wrists smaller than 6.5 inches, links will likely need to be removed for a proper fit.

  1. Take the watch to a local jeweler or watch repair shop — most bracelet sizings take under 10 minutes and cost between $5 and $15.
  2. Keep any removed links in a safe place. They can be reattached later if the watch is resized or passed on.
  3. If you prefer to size at home, a bracelet link removal tool kit is available at most watch supply retailers for under $20.

We recommend having the bracelet sized by a professional for the best result and to avoid scratching the case or bracelet during the process.

Quick Reference

Most wrists between 6.5 and 8 inches will fit a Dwellingham bracelet as shipped, using the Glidelock extension for fine-tuning. Wrists under 6.5 inches will typically need 1–2 links removed. Wrists over 8 inches may need the full extension plus additional links added — contact us and we will send extra links at no charge.
